Merry Christmas week!

This is in honor of a family friend, Kathy. I had always wanted one of these ceramic light-up Christmas trees and had just been waiting on finding the right one. After Kathy passed earlier this year, my cousin and I were helping to clear her house, and buried deep in a forgotten corner of the cellar, really dark and dank, full of ancient and dissolving canning jars (believe it — one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen), was this Christmas tree in a box.

I was able to take it and do some restoration to it. It was missing one of the bulbs, and I ordered a bulb set on Amazon to replace that one and any future ones that might be lost. I cleaned it up and carefully glued the bulbs in place, and now it is back to its splendor.

I have no idea how old it is, or if Kathy ever even set it out; it seemed to be forgotten, buried deep down there in the cellar. But I love it because every Christmas it will remind me of her.
